Hello my lovelies! I know it’s been a long time since we chatted like this but I have a few things I need to talk to y’all about. I also thought you’d like this sunny picture on such a grey day!
I dropped off writing these life posts for a couple of reasons. Firstly I was struggling on Monday mornings to write them up and then feeling like the day was getting away from me when I got to other tasks that needed doing like developing and testing recipes for y’all. It also felt that a weekly post was leading to a drop in quality. Sometimes not much happens that’s very exciting in the course of a week. I go to meetings and slog it out doing boring bits of work that need doing and all of a sudden the week is over. I didn’t like scraping together minutiae to fill column inches – that doesn’t make good reading. So I gave it a break and thought about it. I’ve decided that these posts are going to become a monthly newsletter where I can discuss the actually interesting things from the previous few weeks and give you better in-depth (and some newsletter exclusive) chit chat!
Which leads to the next thing. For the next two weeks there won’t be much in the way of new recipes (it’s ok, it’ll be over before you know it). I am working on a project that is teaching me a whole lot but it’s taking more time and energy than I expected now that I’m at the pointy end. So I need to focus on that and also on another piece of work that is connected to it – giving the site a little makeover! The site will go down for a day or two next week while things are freshened up and then it’s back to business as usual.
In the meantime there is lots to keep you busy baking in the back catalogue and I’ll be back in no time with all sorts of new things for you to try with me. I’m making a real effort to translate more of my creative ideas into the recipes this year. I hope you enjoy it. They’re delicious. Trust me.
